Girlhood all around

What is girlhood to me? It’s going out every week to play pool even though none of you can and you will inevitably end up laughing at each other for how you all play. Going out on valentine’s day together because you’re both single and why should you sit inside being miserable on a day about love when you can surround yourself with platonic love. Which some would argue is the more valuable kind love you can have in comparison to a romantic love. Its doing photoshoots with each other in a studio, playing music loudly and living in the moment. Girlhood is getting ready together before a night out and realising you need to shave, so what else then to dry shave in a sink?

Overall, it’s about surrounding yourself with the people who make you feel most like yourself, who don’t put you down and don’t judge for how you act. You might have already found these people in an early stage of your life, or you might find them later on, either way everyone has their one group of girls that you will always run to no matter the situation.

If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around” Hugh Grant, Love Actually, 2003.
